♥ This beautiful & unique film is a paint-on-glass-animated short film directed by the famed Russian animator, Aleksandr Petrov, based on the classic novella of the same name by Ernest Hemingway, and tells the tale of Santiago, an ageing Cuban fisherman who struggles with a giant marlin out in the Gulf Stream, off the coast of Florida. This is a new, modern soundtrack to this Oscar®-winning animation film, and it has won the 2017 Moondance for Best Film Score.

Congratulations to documentary filmmaker and longtime member of MICHIGAN’s radio community JIM BAADE, whose film adaptation of “Local DJ: The Story Of FLINT Rock N Roll” was recently awarded finalist status in the highly regarded MOONDANCE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL for 2017. The feature documentary was included in the honor among films from IRELAND, TURKEY, IRAN, SINGAPORE and AUSTRALIA.
