MIFF WAVY FILM IMAGE BANNER

We are very grateful for your generous support. Thanks to your financial and in-kind sponsorships and donations, Moondance 2011 will be able to provide inspiration and encouragement to creative artists, and to present, at our annual film festival event, a vibrant and growing collection of films, music and writings, which is an ideal means for communication across perceived boundaries of race, culture, age and gender.

Your donation will make this ongoing mission possible. Your generosity helps us enrich, enlighten, encourage and inspire the local, national and international indie film, music and creative writing community! When you make a gift to the Moondance International Film Festival, you’re honored with special recognition as a “Friend of Moondance”, and your contribution will be noted, if you wish, in the e-newsletter & on the website’s Sponsors, Donors & Friends of Moondance page!

We believe that meaningful films, scripts and music can contribute to a healthier society and that those creative works should encourage the active involvement of audiences to connect and act collectively to address social challenges. We are eager to continue to be one of the most important film festivals in the world by being fully independent, innovative, risk-taking, and open to new thinking, new concepts, new talent, and new ways of telling stories.

An individual or a company can greatly benefit from a unique partnership with the Moondance, while making a big difference to the annual festival competition and festival event, among the world-wide independent entertainment community.

Moondance promotes, encourages, educates and rewards non-violent conflict resolution in the creative arts & film. We strive to encourage a spirit of enterprise in saving the environment, habitats and wildlife by creative individuals from around the world. Moondance encourages and inspires contemplative, meditative, spiritual and inspirational films, music and scripts. The Gaia Award is presented to the person who seeks to elucidate and improve the spiritual quality of all life on the planet, and contributes to the betterment of the world spirit.

Women filmmakers, women writers and composers are vocal and active participants in the social forces that shape our culture. They defy the demeaning and pervasive stereotypes perpetuated by the mainstream media that has for so long pervaded our culture. Equity for women does not mean stifling some voices so that others may be heard; it does not demand the compromising of personal standards to achieve success. Equity fosters the individual voice, investing women with confidence in their own authority. Equity unleashes the creative potential. We see the equal treatment of all women and the equal respect for all responses they explore as essential to the success of the Moondance.

The Moondance Neptune Award is presented to a writer, filmmaker or composer, over the age of 75, who has created either a single work of the highest quality or a body of quality work, and who continues to strive for excellence in his or her career in the entertainment industry, and who inspires and encourages others by his or her example.

The long-term vision of the Moondance International Film Festival is to preserve and revitalize our intangible heritage, cultivate creative diversity, develop an intercultural dialogue, and stimulate this creative resource. Our mission is to present a vibrant and growing collection of films and writings, which is an ideal means for communication across perceived boundaries of race, culture, age and gender.

Your interest, personal involvement and offer of support for this vital endeavor is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
