A young, newly-married couple attempt to walk, paddle and ski, alone and under their own power, from Seattle to the Aleutian Islands along the wild and remote northwest coast of North America, as they trek through northern Washington, British Columbia and Alaska. Experience this modern adventure through their eyes as they encounter breathtaking scenery, harsh weather, amazing wildlife, starvation and danger. This courageous expedition demonstrates that one of the most significant aspect of any journey is not only about reaching one's final destination, but how the journey changes the trajectory of the rest of a person's life. The director or stars of this film will hold a unique Q&A session after the screening, via satellite phone from the glacier where they’re shooting their next film! Moondance will donate $5 from each ticket sold for this screening to Ground Truth Trekking, which is an environmental organization founded by Erin and Hig, the stars of this fantastic adventure film, and who are on the forefront of empowering women and children to experience and help preserve our wild places. www.GroundTruthTrekking.org |

DILLI, short film, Directed by Rintu Thomas, Sushmit Ghosh, produced by Robin Raina (USA). Dilli is a short documentary film about the hidden faces behind the so-called development of Delhi and their untold story. Dilli brings out a stark comparison of the rampant progress and development of the megalopolis vis-à-vis thousands who are left homeless while the whole city is modernized and revamped. Dilli records and documents the evacuation of the thousands who in a matter of minutes lost their homes, and were left in a sea of rubble with nowhere to go and no ray of hope for a better tomorrow. Director Sushmit Ghosh and Rintu Thomas eloquently weave this untold story of mass exodus of thousands who were bulldozed from their homes and transferred to a makeshift facade in the slums of Bawana without water, shelter or drainage while the city was redone for the 2010 Commonwealth Games. |
